Careerbags is a global online store for quality driven fashion and techno-forward, professional men and women. We offer close to 3,000 carefully edited quality products that help you look professional, current and confident. In 2007, founder Ellen Hart started Careerbags after 15 years of experience designing, manufacturing, marketing and selling the first collection of business cases for professional women. After selling the collection to a major luggage company she went on to license and co design a collection of men’s products for Rawlings Sporting Goods. Careerbags has grown to become an international style source offering the best quality Laptop Bags, iPad Cases, Travel Products and Device Accessories.
Who is our customer? CEO’s, CFO’s, Executive Vice Presidents and Business Owners. They care about function and they care about looking great. If you look great, it boosts your confidence 100% and success is inevitable. The traveling business professional that is on their way to the top and needs to be able to stay organized, look professional and travel with ease. Why the name CareerBags?
After speaking to a friend in the UK about our newest designs for Hartmann Luggage he asked if we were going to design any Career Bags for men. I loved the name, thought it told the story and grabbed the domain name. We have so many lovely customers from the UK, Australia and all over the world that search for us by that name so thanks Robert.
The Founder - Ellen Hart
Careerbags.com founder and owner Ellen Hart has had a varied career. As a kid, she spent hours discovering insects, flowers and frogs and loved bringing them home. (her mother, a Proper Southern lady was appalled) She would sit in her room for hours drawings her daily finds and knew that someday she wanted to illustrate Science Books. Her first business just out of college was called Silver Tusk Designs. She created Jewelry out of engraved ivory called Scrimshaw. She eventually went on to live out her first dream and became and Natural Science Illustrator and had a studio filled with all kinds of creepy things.
Reality happened and she had to support herself so she moved on and went to work for a wholesale gift showroom in the Dallas Trade Mart. After 6 months she thought she could do a better job and bought out the owner. After ten successful years and needing to find a product that she couldn’t believe, didn’t exist for workingwomen, she sold her company and designed the first collection of business cases for women. She became partners in a successful luxury leather goods company, co-designed the missing product and sold it to a major luggage company. She went on to design, manufacture and market with her partner, many luxury leather products for the next 15 years. She started Careerbags.com in 2007 and loves her job.
Since Careerbags.com humble beginnings, Ellen has assembled a fantastic team of people who are experts in their particular areas. She has partnered with two of her team members and started a new online store called www.laptopbagsandcases.com and will build a third store in the next six months. Her hobby is creating images using photography and illustration with insects, flora and scientific instruments and her office is once again filled with creepy things.
